  E-diagrams

Summary: At first H found recalling the house slippery. Although holding an image in his mind was possible, on returning to it, it appeared changed, at variance. It was as if on each re-encounter something escaped. To neutralize this unsettling impression H made a set of diagrams known now as the E-diagrams. These show the elevations of the house seen from four different orientations found by positioning himself centrally to the imagined fa├žade according to the direction the heat of the sun might pass across his body. The arrows on the diagrams indicate the various possibilities for entering and exiting the house: doors, windows or simply anomalous openings.

Technical detail: Each of the four diagrams measure 45cm x 55cm. They are drawn in oil paint onto brown paper coated with Dulux mat emulsion house paint and rubber date stamped.
